How to Create a Free Subdomain for Your Minecraft Server
Published on July 29, 2026
Every Minecraft server from ConsulHosting includes a free subdomain, such as myserver.consulhosting.eu. This address is easier to remember and share than your server’s technical IP address and corresponding port. When you open the Minecraft server in the game panel for the first time, you must first set up a subdomain. In this guide, we explain how to do this and how to change the subdomain later.
Tip With your own domain name, you can also set up a custom server address, such as play.yourdomain.com.Setting up a free subdomain
- Log in to the game panel and go to your Minecraft server.
- The Set Up Your Subdomain window opens automatically.
- Enter the desired name for your Minecraft server under Subdomain.
- Select one of the available domains under Domain.
- Check the complete subdomain under Your Server Address and click Configure Subdomain.
- Wait until the subdomain has been configured. You can then continue setting up your Minecraft server.
Changing your subdomain
- Log in to the game panel and go to your Minecraft server.
- Under Configuration, open the Subdomain page.
- Click Edit on the right.
- Enter the desired name under New Subdomain and select the domain you want to use.
- Click Save Changes and wait until the new subdomain is displayed on the page.
- Refresh the page. The new server address will then also be displayed under IP in the top-right corner.
Tip Click the server address in the top-right corner to copy it. You can then share this address with players who want to join your Minecraft server.
