How to Join a Minecraft Server by IP on Java and Bedrock
Updated on July 17, 2026
Once you have purchased a Minecraft server hosting plan from ConsulHosting, you will naturally want to connect to your server as soon as possible. To do this, you need your server’s IP address. Below, you can read where to find this IP address and how to join your Minecraft server using Minecraft Java Edition, Bedrock Edition or PlayStation.
Joining a Minecraft server using Minecraft Java Edition
- Log in to the game panel and go to your Minecraft server.
- You can find your server’s IP in the top-right corner. Click it to copy the IP address.
- Open the Minecraft Launcher.
- Go to Multiplayer and click Add Server.
- Paste the IP address you copied earlier into the Server Address field and click Done.
- Select the server from the server list and click Join Server.
Joining a Minecraft server using Minecraft Bedrock Edition
Note Minecraft servers do not support Minecraft Bedrock Edition by default. You can only join the server using Bedrock Edition when it uses GeyserMC or Minecraft Bedrock server software.
- Log in to the game panel and go to your Minecraft server.
- You can find your server’s IP and PORT (BEDROCK) in the top-right corner. Click them to copy the details.
- Open Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
- Go to Play, open the Servers tab and click Add Server.
- Enter a Server Name. Paste the IP address you copied earlier into the Server Address field and enter the port in the Port field.
- Click Add and Play to connect to the Minecraft server.
- From now on, you can find the server in your server list under Additional Servers.
Joining a Minecraft server using PS4 or PS5
Minecraft on PlayStation does not offer a built-in option for connecting directly to a custom Minecraft server. We therefore use a workaround that makes the server appear in your friends list through a proxy.
Note The Minecraft server must use GeyserMC or Minecraft Bedrock server software before you can join it using a PlayStation.
- Log in to the game panel and go to your Minecraft server.
- You can find your server’s IP and PORT (BEDROCK) in the top-right corner. Click them to copy the details.
- Download the free BedrockTogether app from Google Play or the App Store.
- Open the app and paste the IP address you copied earlier into the IP: field. Then enter the port in the Port: field.
- Click Watch Ad and Run and wait until the advertisements have finished playing.
- Keep the app open while you are playing on the Minecraft server.
- Open Minecraft on your PS4 or PS5.
- Go to Play, open the Friends tab and navigate to the LAN Games section.
- The Minecraft server should now appear here. Select the server to join it.
Note Your phone or tablet and your PlayStation must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. After starting the server through BedrockTogether, it may take a few minutes before it appears in Minecraft.
