How to Schedule Automatic Restarts for Your Minecraft Server

Published on July 21, 2026

Do you want your Minecraft server to restart automatically at set times? By creating a schedule in the game panel, you can have the server restart every night, for example. This can help reduce memory usage that builds up over time and apply changes that require a restart. In this guide, we explain how to set up, check, and later change a daily automatic restart.

Set up a daily automatic restart

Note A restart temporarily disconnects all players from the server. We therefore recommend choosing a quiet time and notifying players in advance.
  1. Log in to the game panel and go to your Minecraft server.
  2. Open the Tasks page.
  3. Click Create Schedule.
  4. Enter a recognizable name under Schedule Name, such as Daily restart.
  5. Set the switch under Easy Mode to Advanced so you can enter the exact time.
  6. Enter the following values to restart the Minecraft server every day at 4:00 AM:

Field

Minute

0

Hour

Day of month

Month

*

Day of week

*

Tip Want to use a different time? For a daily restart at 8:30 PM, enter 30 under Minute and 20 under Hour. Leave the remaining fields set to *.
  1. Leave the Only When Server Is Online and Schedule Enabled options enabled.
  2. Click Create Schedule.
  3. Open the schedule by clicking its name.
  4. Click New Task.
  5. Under Action, select Send Power Action.
  6. Leave Time Offset (in seconds) set to 0 and select Restart the Server under Payload.
  7. Click Create Task.

The Minecraft server will now restart automatically every day at the configured time.

Change or disable the restart schedule

  1. Open the Tasks page in the game panel.
  2. Open the schedule using the Manage Schedule button.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Change the time or disable Schedule Enabled to temporarily stop the automatic restarts.
  5. Click Save Changes.
